License

A plain-English summary of the LaunchKit commercial license.

LaunchKit is sold under a commercial license: you buy once, you ship as many products as you want, you don't redistribute the boilerplate itself. The full executed EULA ships inside the repository as LICENSE; this page is the short version for prospective buyers.

You can

  • Use the source code to build unlimited commercial applications, including paid SaaS, internal tools, one-off client work, and side projects.
  • Modify the code freely — rename files, swap stacks, delete features, brand it as your own.
  • Deploy compiled and source forms of your applications to any host, on any number of servers.
  • Use it as the foundation for client deliverables. The license is tied to you; your client gets the application you build, not the boilerplate license itself.

You cannot

  • Resell or redistribute the boilerplate as a starter kit, template, code generator, or competing product.
  • Publish, sublicense, or share the source code as-is to third parties — except as bundled inside an application you built.
  • Use the license credentials of another buyer or transfer your license to a third party without our written consent.
  • Remove the proprietary notices contained in the codebase (you can replace them with your own; you can't strip them without replacement in derivative re-distributions).

Updates and support

Each license tier sets the support window. The Standard tier includes one year of updates and access to the buyers' Discord; the Lifetime tier includes updates forever, priority support, a private channel, and early access to new features. Security fixes ship to all license holders for free, regardless of tier.

Refunds

Once you've been added to the private GitHub organization, the source code is in your hands — so we don't offer refunds on repositories that have been accessed. If you change your mind before we send the GitHub invite (typically the first few hours after checkout), email us within 7 days of purchase and we'll refund in full.

The fairest way to avoid buyer's regret is to read the full FAQ and email us with any questions before you check out. We're happy to walk you through specific parts of the codebase, share a Loom of the dashboard, or answer anything that's still unclear. We'd rather lose a sale than have you regret it.

Warranty and liability

The software is provided as is, without warranty of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability under this license is limited to the fees you paid for it. The full disclaimer is in the executed LICENSE file shipped with the codebase.

Third-party dependencies

The codebase includes third-party open source software, each governed by its own license. You're responsible for complying with the terms of those components. The headline ones (Django, Next.js, React, Tailwind, shadcn/ui) are MIT or BSD-licensed and impose no additional restrictions on you.
